Saturday at the Village

As part of the BVI Spring Regatta, Creative Waves brought a series of art experiences into the heart of the Regatta Village at Nanny Cay, creating a space where creativity and community could come together during this special event.

Across the weekend, people visited and admired the painted sails created by this year’s winning artists with the theme “The Healing Ocean.”

The Regatta Village Art Fair offered a chance to connect directly with local artists, with visitors able to browse and purchase original work, supporting the creative community across the BVI.

For younger visitors, our free Regatta Crafternoon created a lively and fun space for children to make, experiment and enjoy working with upcycled materials, showing just how much can be created from simple, everyday items.

At the centre of it all was a live sculpture by Sim Llewellyn, built over several days using waste collected from marinas, beaches, Green VI and homes across the island. Sim transformed familiar discarded materials into a meaningful sculpture for the wider community.
