Anegada Lions Club Senior
Creativity has no age limit, and community connection becomes even more meaningful when it is shared across generations. Our visit to Anegada, in partnership with the Lions Club Anegada Branch, was centred around creating space for seniors to come together, make, share stories and enjoy time with one another.
We ran a Thanksgiving craft session with the seniors of Anegada, creating Caribbean wreath centrepieces using locally sourced materials. The session was relaxed and social, highlighting how creative activity can encourage connection, memory and wellbeing.
While on the island, we also visited Claudia Creque School to begin conversations about bringing more creative opportunities to children in Anegada. Building relationships across the islands is an important part of our work, helping ensure access to the arts reaches communities all across the BVI.
