Birds of the BVI

From 7th April to 1st May 2026, the Arts Hub hosted the Birds of the BVI exhibition, bringing together a group of local artists to exhibit their style and perspectives of birdlife across the islands.

The exhibition featured work from Sarah Graham, Esau Andrews, Thor Downing, Ciara Evans, Jill Tattershall, Brooklyn Ticker-Davies and Rico Wheatley, each offering a different interpretation of the subject.

The opening night on 7th April brought together artists, supporters and the wider community to celebrate the launch of the show. The exhibition continued throughout the month, with lots of visitors stopping by the Arts Hub to engage with the work.

The exhibition concluded with Bird Fest on 2nd May, extending the experience and bringing the theme to life in a more interactive, community event at the Arts Hub. The day included talks from Clive Petrovic and Nancy Pascoe on resident and migrating birds, how to spot different species and habitats, their role in marine ecosystems and the impact of environmental change. The event also gave amateur photographers the opportunity to showcase their work, and ended with Happy Beaks Craft Club, a bird-themed afternoon of arts and crafts for children.
